As you may or may not know vitamin D helps to maintain your immune system and strong bones amongst a few other things.
A fun fact is vitamin D is often regarded as a Prohormone (hormone)
Prohormones are substances your body can convert into a hormone

Just know when your body receives vitamin D from various sources such as sunlight, food & supplements it converts it into a hormone called activated vitamin D or Calcitriol which is one of the essentials for your health and well-being.

Helps to keep your muscles strong (low levels of vitamin D can lead to muscle weakness, especially in the elderly)
Helps to build strong bones and overall Skeletal health (your body needs vitamin D to extract calcium from the food we eat. Low levels of vitamin D mean this will be a less efficient process
Protects against heart disease (one of the largest studies ever done concluded that having a low level of vitamin D increases the risk of heart disease.)
