✊🏾Black History Month 2022 - UK
In October Black History Month is recognised/observed in the United Kingdom.
A celebration that originally began in you USA in February 1970 and then adopted in the UK in 1987 when it was organised by Akyaaba Addai-Sebo in London. Since then, it has been recognised around the whole of the UK in October of each year.
There are many events to recognise Black History Month across the country. These include special classes and observations arranged in some schools and Afro-Caribbean societies at universities organising special events and lectures.
Art galleries & Museums have special themed exhibits, and there are also many special themed shows about Black History Month on Television & Radio.
Even though Black History Month is only recognised as one month in the year in two separate countries it is important to remember black history throughout the year.
History is still in the making!
